In a striking collaboration between the Seahawks, Nike, and the NFL, the Seahawks unveiled their 2025 “Rivalries” uniform—a specially designed alternate kit created to honor their fervent fanbase and loud home environment. Set to debut under the primetime lights on Thursday, December 18 (Week 16), during their home game against the Los Angeles Rams, this uniform marks a fresh, modern gesture toward fan and regional identity.
This is akin to the “City Connect” uniforms Major League Baseball has done with Nike over the past few years.
The NFL announced the “Rivalries” concept ahead of this season. It is meant to be a “new uniform and fan gear program announced earlier this year. The uniforms will celebrate storied local traditions and unite fan communities with designs unique to select cities and teams.”
Let’s break down the new Seahawks uniform itself.
First off, the wolf grey is back! After a brief hiatus when Seattle introduced the throwbacks, they will once again incorporate a wolf grey jersey and pants. The team states “The unforms feature wolf grey jerseys and pants with iridescent green numbers that reflect differently based on how light hits them. The helmet is also iridescent green with a metallic chrome finish.”
The glossy green numbers against the grey call some fans to some uniforms worn by the Oregon Ducks.
The team continues in their statement, “The uniform will feature a 12s patch, as well as a 12 pattern in the jersey numbers that will reflect in the light, and the helmet bumpers will have the phrase "12 As One" on the back of the helmet. There are also soundwave details on the shoulders and down the pantlegs to represent the loudest fan in the NFL.”
The team is paying homage to the fanbase and Lumen Field. layers were quick to embrace the new look: Devon Witherspoon called the uniform “clean,” Kenneth Walker III said he believed “the 12s will love it,” and Cooper Kupp praised the intricate details as “unreal.”
In this author’s opinion, the crown jewel of the uniform is the helmet. Described as “iridescent green with a metallic chrome finish.” It looks like a different shade depending on the light and angle you look at them.
