Storm 2026 Season Grades: Taina Mair
Taina Mair, the No. 14 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft, played an end-of-bench role for the Seattle Storm as a rookie. Seattle was a guard-needy team, but she still struggled to find playing time.
It’s been over two weeks since the Seattle Storm played their final game of the 2026 season, completing an uneventful season that still brought a ton of hope to the future of the franchise.
The main takeaway from the season was the foundation laid by the trio of Dominique Malonga, Flau’jae Johnson and Awa Fam — Seattle’s rookie and second-year group with the chance to alter the Storm’s future.
Evaluation of the entire roster is still valuable, even if many of the current players will not return in 2027. That’s where the season grades come in.
Next on the roster for grading is Taina Mair, the 14th overall pick by the Storm in the 2026 WNBA Draft. Mair didn’t make Seattle’s initial roster, but she was re-signed to a developmental roster spot before the season began and appeared in 10 games.
Statistical overview
10 games played, 5.1 minutes per game - 1.3 ppg, 0.4 reb, 0.5 ast, 0.1 blk (21.1% FG, 33.3% 3PT, 100% FT)
Offense
Mair struggled offensively, shooting an overall 4-for-19 from the field in her 10 appearances as a rookie. She wasn’t drafted to be a score-first guard, but that’s still an element that will eventually be expected to improve if Mair is going to stick with the Storm long term.
Storm head coach Sonia Raman didn’t give Mair many opportunities to contribute, as she played a maximum of 13 minutes in one game all season (Aug. 23 at Dallas). Mair totaled six points, one rebound and one assist in that game.
