Nneka Ogwumike earned the first 2025 end-of-season award of any Seattle Storm player after winning the Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award, the league announced on Monday.

The award is given to a player who “exemplifies the ideals of sportsmanship on the court, including ethical behavior, fair play and integrity,” per a WNBA press release. Ogwumike, who is also the president of the Women’s National Basketball Players Association, previously won the award three straight years from 2019-21.

It’s yet another prestigious award for the 14-year veteran and former league MVP, who has also made 10 All-Star appearances, been named to seven All-WNBA First or Second Teams and seven All-Defensive First or Second Teams in her career. Ogwumike has a reputation as being a pillar in the WNBA community, which is why she is at the forefront of the players’ voice with the WNBPA.

Ogwumike’s 18 winning votes outpaced the Connecticut Sun’s Saniya Rivers (11). Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx (seven votes) and Kayla Thornton of the Golden State Valkyries (seven) made up the top four, while the Chicago Sky’s Rachel Banham and Atlanta Dream’s Naz Hillmon tied for fifth (six votes).

Starting all 44 games for the 23-21 Storm, Ogwumike averaged 18.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game. She is continuing to rise in the league’s all-time ranks in multiple statistical categories.

The Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award was the last individual player award to be handed out for the 2025 season. The WNBA’s All-Rookie teams will release on Monday, Sept. 29, followed by the All-Defensive teams (Wednesday, Oct. 1) and All-WNBA teams (Tuesday, Oct. 7).
