Emerald City Spectrum is an independent sports journalism outlet that pays 100% for travel expenses off of subscriptions and does not receive any support from a larger company. Donations provide an opportunity for us to send reporters to more games and events, including away from Seattle, by helping cover transportation and lodging costs.
Be Part of the Solution Against Misinformation
Emerald City Spectrum prides itself on having reporters on site to interview the players, coaches, and team personnel for every team in the Seattle region as a means to ensure accurate information and reporting is provided for fans. Not being able to be on site makes that goal more difficult, especially with the proliferation of aggregated news sources on the internet and social media that do not have checks placed on them. Donations allow us to combat aggregation and the spread of misinformation in the sports scape.

We are not backed by a larger media company, which means there’s no bias. We provide accurate sports reporting without any red tape, giving a local voice from on the ground that many outlets have wrongly abandoned.
