With their latest latest wave of commitments for the 2027 recruiting class, the Washington State Cougars continued a trend that has become a major focus during the first full recruiting cycle under first-year coach Kirby Moore and his staff. The Cougars have put a significant emphasis on recruiting talent throughout the western United States, particularly in California, and that strategy paid off once again with commitments from offensive tackle Landon Guenter and athlete Sirjewel Glover.

Guenter is a 6-6, 255-pound offensive tackle from Redwood High School in Visalia, California. He becomes the 10th California prospect to commit to Washington State in the 2027 recruiting class, further strengthening the Cougars' footprint in one of the nation's most talent-rich recruiting states. Guenter chose Washington State over offers from Fresno State, UNLV, Idaho, and several other programs.

Already possessing the frame that college coaches look for in a future offensive lineman, Guenther brings a well-rounded game as a two-way standout at the prep level. Perhaps even more exciting for Washington State fans is the fact that he still has plenty of room to develop physically. As he continues to mature and spend time in a college strength and conditioning program, it would not be surprising to see him add significant weight and strength before arriving in Pullman in 2027.

Another major advantage for Guenter is that he plans to graduate early and enroll at Washington State next January, allowing him to get to work with his new team ahead of most other incoming recruits. Early enrollment will allow him to participate in winter conditioning, spring practices, and spend additional time learning the offensive system before most members of the 2027 recruiting class arrive on campus. That extra development time can often make a significant difference for young offensive linemen.

Joining Guenter in the class is Sirjewel Glover, a 6-0, 180-pound playmaker from Rainier Beach High School in Seattle. Glover gives Washington State another talented in-state prospect to develop and becomes the third commitment from Washington in the 2027 class. He selected the Cougars over offers from Oregon State, UNLV, New Mexico, and several other programs.

While Glover is currently listed as a wide receiver due to his elite speed, he could move to cornerback when he arrives on campus, transitioning full time to defense. Regardless of which side of the ball he ultimately plays, as receiver remains a possibility, Glover brings the type of explosiveness that coaching staffs are always looking to add to a roster and that the Cougs sorely lacked at times a year ago.

The additions of Guenter and Glover continue to build momentum for Washington State's 2027 class. According to 247Sports, the Cougars currently hold commitments from one of Washington's top-ranked prospects in Ryan Harrington, who is ranked as the No. 15 player in the state. The class also includes unranked prospects such as Nate Obasaanjo and Glover.

With the commitments of Guenter and Glover, Washington State continues to assemble a recruiting class built around size, athleticism, and strong relationships throughout the western United States. The Cougars have established a clear recruiting identity under Moore by aggressively targeting nearby hotbeds while also keeping top local talent at home. As the 2027 class continues to grow, Washington State appears to be laying the foundation for a group that could play a major role in the future of the program. With 17 total commits, you can expect the Cougars to land a few more players before signing day, but the Cougars have had a promising start to Moore’s tenure.
