The Washington Huskies football team received two verbal commitments from three-star recruits this weekend to push their 2026 Class to 20 members.
Rahsjon Duncan, a 6-1, 186-pound defensive back out of McClymonds High School in Oakland, Calif., announced his commitment Sunday on Instagram. On Saturday, wide receiver Blaise LaVista, from Lincoln-Way East in Frankfort, Ill., posted on X.com that he’ll play his college ball at Washington.
The two additions push Washington’s 2026 Class to 20 members and a 247Sports composite ranking of 18th. The Huskies are expected to sign approximately 23-25 players in December. The verbal commitments are non-binding, so Jedd Fisch and his staff must hold off potential rivals to keep recruits in the fold.
Adding a commitment from Illinois gives Washington 2026 class representatives from eight states, including California (7 players), Washington (4), Nevada (3), Oregon (2), Florida (1), New Jersey (1), Illinois (1) and Oklahoma (1). Duncan is the sixth defensive back in the class, while LaVista is the second receiver for 2026.

Duncan’s film is worth a watch. He’s listed as a cornerback, but is a physical player who could end up at safety. Also a strong receiver at McClymonds, he won both the 100 and 200-meter sprints at the 2025 Oakland Section Championships, and has run a 10.79 in the 100. He chose Washington over Arizona, Arizona State, and UCLA, and had been considered the top uncommitted 2026 player in Northern California.
"I chose the University of Washington because their development plan fits exactly what I need to grow as a player, and their DBU legacy speaks for itself,” Duncan told Brandon Huffman of 247Sports. “What really stood out to me was the culture. It's competitive, family-oriented, and focused on developing both players and people. That's the kind of environment I see myself thriving in.”

LaVista, a 6-2, 190-pound receiver from the Chicago area, has been garnering more interest over the last several weeks. Washington offered LaVista on July 1, and he accepted on Saturday over Coastal Carolina, Central Michigan, Kent State, and Akron. Huskies receivers coach Kevin Cummings may have to fend off larger suitors over the next few months. LaVista finished his junior season with over 1,400 yards and 24 touchdowns at Class 6A Libertyville. He’ll play his senior season at 8A Lincoln-Way East with USC quarterback recruit Jonah Williams, which will put LaVista against a higher level of competition.
Washington received a little bad news on Saturday when three-star interior offensive lineman Pulelei’ite Primus chose Vanderbilt over UW and Houston.
