Jedd Fisch found his Class of 2027 running back.

Jeremy Adeyanju, a 6-0, 215-pounder out of Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Glendale, Arizona, confirmed his commitment to Washington on social media. The junior chose the Huskies over USC, Michigan and UCLA.

Adeyanju’s stock has been rising over the last few months. He’s shown good instincts and decisiveness running behind an offensive line with a pair of three-star recruits, and the long-strider can run away from defenders in the open field. Adeyanju will join a UW running back room that theoretically would include high school Class of 2026 4-star recruit Brian Bonner, as well as Ansue Sanoe (2026), Quaid Carr (2025), Julian McMahan (2025) and Jordan Washington (2024).

Adeyanju, already at 215 pounds, would seem to offer UW some power running to go along with smaller speedsters Bonner and Washington. Playing for a high school team that went 3-8 last season, Adeyanju demonstrated the ability to break tackles in his junior highlights.

It’s another big win for Washington running back Scottie Graham, who won tight recruiting battles for Adeyanju and Bonner the last two recruiting cycles.

“Huge pickup for Washington,” Rivals recruiting expert Greg Biggins said on X.com. “Top-rated back out West, visited UW and USC over the last week in what was a very tight race but Huskies get it done.”

Adeyanju’s commitment comes on the heels of the Huskies missing out on four-star edge players Zane Rowe (Oregon) and Troy Bowens (Cal). He is the ninth known commit to Washington’s 2027 class, which was ranked fourth behind Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Ohio State as of Sunday afternoon according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Washington has shown success recruiting in Arizona over the last few coaching staffs. The Arizona emphasis has continued with Fisch, the former head coach at Arizona. The current UW roster includes Arizona natives Demond Williams Jr., Dezmen Roebuck, Alex McLaughlin, Rylon Dillard-Allen and Russell Davis II. The 2025 roster also featured Arizona natives Raiden Vines-Bright, Adam Mohammed and Grady Gross as well as former University of Arizona players Tacario Davis, Jacob Manu, Ta’ita’i Uiagelelei, Anthony Ward and Isaiah Ward.

Two of Washington’s nine 2027 recruits hail from the Grand Canyon state as Adeyanju joins Desert Edge (Goodyear, Ariz.) receiver Zerek Sidney. His teammate, four-star quarterback Blake Roskopf, appears to be a top priority for Washington. Roskopf, four-star Peoria Centennial (Peoria, Ariz.) receiver Dontay Tyson and three-star Basha (Chandler, Arizona) offensive lineman DaJohn Yarborough attended Washington’s “Dawghouse Weekend” Junior Day March 7-8\.

Verbal commitments are non-binding, and most Class of 2027 players will sign in December before starting at UW in January.
