It's only fitting that Gonzaga WBB's incredible roster retention led to a Fan Fest performance that mirrors many of their games last season.

At preseason hype events or pep rallies, fans usually need time to get to know a program's new players, especially in today's college athletics landscape. But that wasn’t the case for Gonzaga women’s basketball at its annual Numerica Fan Fest.

The Zags retained 10 players and 95% of last year’s scoring. Only three players on the court Saturday were fresh faces, and for the most part, GU played as it did for most of the 2025-26 campaign. And that was for better or worse, with a heavy 3-point shot diet, sloppy turnovers, and some timidity from one of the team’s most talented players.

An Impressive 3-Point Showing

Last season, the Bulldogs led the country in 3-point percentage (39.2%). So their 3-point contest Saturday featured four players: Allie Turner, Teryn Gardner, Inês Bettencourt, and Lauren Whittaker, who took at least 88 shots from beyond the arc last year.
