With not much happening in terms of CBA developments, it was a big week for Seattle Storm players competing in other leagues during the WNBA offseason, highlighted by 2025 No. 2 overall pick Dominique Malonga’s first career dunk in a U.S.-based professional basketball league.
Malonga, currently playing for the Breeze in the Unrivaled basketball league, threw down a jam in a 75-68 win over the Lunar Owls on Saturday, Jan. 24. Storm guard Skylar Diggins plays for the Lunar Owls, who haven’t been nearly as competitive this season after making a title run in 2025.
Storm guard Brittney Sykes is helping to lead the 6-1 Laces, which currently have the best record in Unrivaled. The Breeze (4-3) are tied for third, led by Malonga and Paige Bueckers.
Malonga has emerged as one of the best players in Unrivaled — providing even more hope that she will take a massive leap in her second season with the Storm. She’s averaging 16.9 points (T-13th), 10.9 rebounds (2nd) and 1.3 blocks per game (5th).
Meanwhile, Gabby Williams, Mackenzie Holmes and Tiffany Mitchell are still playing overseas, with Holmes still in contention for the WNBL (Australia) MVP.
Here’s a roundup of all the action that 2025 Storm players were involved in in the last week.
