Skylar Diggins Logs First-Ever WNBA All-Star Triple-Double in Team Collier Win
Seattle Storm guard Skylar Diggins posted the first-ever triple-double in the WNBA All-Star game in a 151-131 win for Team Collier over Team Clark on Saturday, July 19, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Diggins finished with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 15 assists in 21 minutes off the bench, making her the first player in history to post such a statline in the league’s annual All-Star game. It was one of multiple records in the game on the evening, as team captain Napheesa Collier scored 36 points — also the most in All-Star game history. Team Collier’s 151 points also broke the previous high of 143 set in 2023, and the combined scoring of 282 broke the previous record of 270.
In addition to her triple-double record, no player has logged more assists than Diggins with her 15 on Saturday. The 11-year WNBA veteran has been critical to the Storm’s success this season, averaging 17.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game in 32.6 minutes.
Seattle was well-represented overall, with Nneka Ogwumike and Gabby Williams also playing on Saturday. Ogwumike was also part of the winning team, totaling 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists on 7 of 8 shooting. Williams tied for third in scoring on Team Clark with 16 points, five assists and a steal in 24 minutes on the court.
Storm guard Erica Wheeler also placed second in the skills challenge, finishing the course in 36.5 seconds in the first round to move onto the final before posting a time that was two-hundredths of a second slower in the final round. The New York Liberty’s Natasha Cloud was just over a second faster in the final to take home the victory. Diggins also participated in the skills challenge but had the second-slowest time among the five players (42 seconds).
Williams made her first All-Star appearance while Ogwumike (10-time All-Star) and Diggins (7-time All-Star) both continued to build their legacies with yet another impressive showing.
The Storm (14-9) are back in action following the All-Star break on Tuesday, July 22, versus the Dallas Wings at 7 p.m. It will be the fourth and final game in a long homestand before they head back on the road.
