The Seattle Seawolves have a hooker pair for 2026, with Sean McNulty - a former 2022 Seawolf with 72 MLR caps across seven seasons - joining Dewald Kotze in the center of the front row for the upcoming season. Unlike the South African-Canadian Kotze, McNulty has domestic eligibility (with six Eagles caps) and will not count as one of the team’s seven international gameday slots when he makes a matchday 23.
Standing at 6-2 and 240 pounds, the 30-year-old McNulty is similar in size to Kotze and fellow Canadian 2025 Seawolf Jesse Mackail as well as 2024 Seattle hooker Joe Taufete’e, indicating that the team is looking for size at the no. 2 position. McNulty has used that size well over the years, with the North American Rugby Database (NARDb) clocking him in at 119 meters made in 2025 and 1100 over his career. McNulty augments this experience and power with accuracy on the ball.
McNulty is the first signing from the defunct Miami Sharks organization, though the veteran has logged time with six teams over the years.
