With their offseason program all wrapped up, the Seattle Seahawks will open training camp at the VMAC on July 23, meaning the start of the upcoming season will be here before fans have a chance to blink.

In preparation for year number two under coach Mike Macdonald, I’ll be detailing every member of the Seahawks 90-man roster over the next several weeks, dishing out fun facts, exploring best and worst case scenarios, and predicting what to expect from each player entering the 2025 campaign.

Brought back to compete for a roster spot after two stints on Seattle’s practice squad a year ago, can Tyler Hall take advantage of his past experience to sneak onto the team this summer?

### Tyler Hall

**Height/Weight**: 5-10, 190 pounds

**2024 Stats**: DNP (Practice squad)

Going undrafted after a stellar college career at Wyoming, Hall originally signed with the Falcons in 2020 and found his way onto the active roster midway through the season, appearing in nine games and producing six tackles on special teams during his rookie year. He joined the Rams the following August, seeing action in four games for the eventual Super Bowl champs before being waived in September 2022\. Over the next two seasons, he suited up for 18 games with the Raiders, enjoying his most successful season in 2022 with 20 tackles, a sack, and four pass breakups.

Last season, Hall signed with the Eagles as a free agent and unfortunately landed on injured reserve midway through training camp, eventually reaching an injury settlement with the team and becoming a free agent. He spent two separate stints on the Seahawks practice squad sandwiched around two months with the Jaguars, re-signing with Seattle on a future/reserve deal in January. He will compete for snaps in the slot as well as on special teams in his first training camp in the Pacific Northwest.

**Fun Fact**: Suiting up for seven games with Las Vegas in 2022, Hall ranked fourth among cornerbacks with at least 150 coverage snaps with a 56.3 passer rating against and sixth in forced incompletion rate (22 percent) per Pro Football Focus.

**Best Case Scenario**: Rediscovering his 2022/2023 form in Macdonald’s defense with gritty play for his size, Hall builds off a solid offseason program by carving out a reserve role as a slot defender and core special teams player during the preseason, landing one of the final spots on Seattle’s 53-man roster.

**Worst Case Scenario**: Despite offering previous NFL experience, Hall doesn’t see the field much during exhibition play with the Seahawks opting to use other options in nickel/dime packages and gets beat out for practice squad spots by undrafted rookies Zy Alexander and Isas Waxter.

**What to Expect in 2025**: Still just 26 years old, Hall has played pretty well when granted the opportunity to play in regular season games since first making a roster with the Falcons in 2020, evidenced by his 86.3 coverage grade from PFF with the Raiders only three seasons ago. He has flashed some ability as a blitzer while being a stingy tackler for a smaller cornerback, posting under a six percent missed tackle rate in 2022 and 2023, exhibiting the traits Macdonald has idealized from the slot during his time as a defensive coordinator and head coach.

What will hurt Hall’s chances, however, is that the Seahawks already have a bevy of superior options to mix in at the slot position, starting with hard-hitting Pro Bowler Devon Witherspoon. When ‘Spoon isn’t playing inside and lines up at the boundary, safeties Coby Bryant and Nick Emmanwori will likely get plenty of run there in big nickel/dime sets, while veteran Shemar Jean-Charles also saw some action there during offseason practices. That logjam will make it far trickier for Hall to secure a roster spot, even considering the fact that he has more in-game experience as a slot than Emmanwori or Jean-Charles do. It will take a fantastic preseason where he outperforms the likes of Jean-Charles and Nehemiah Pritchett to have a shot at sticking and returning to the practice squad seems like the most likely outcome.
