Seahawks Could See Return of Two Key Offensive Starters vs. Chiefs
Seeking help anywhere they can find it on offense, the Seahawks could have their top running back and a key starter in the trenches returning just in time for a Sunday night showdown with the Chiefs.
RENTON, Wash. - After doing some much-needed soul searching over the past three days following a difficult 17-14 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos, the Seattle Seahawks could have multiple starters back in action to help their swooning offense.
In the final week of his 21-day practice window, just eight months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL, running back Zach Charbonnet appears to be on track to make his anticipated debut against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Meanwhile, the hard-nosed ball carrier could have a fully healthy offensive line in front of him with right guard Anthony Bradford designated to return to practice from injured reserve on Monday.
Charbonnet has been practicing for the past two weeks, though the Seahawks only had one walkthrough in the three days leading up to their road trip to Denver due to a short week. Coach Mike Macdonald didn't guarantee the fourth-year runner would be available against the Chiefs, but if he has a strong week of practice, he has a good shot to suit up for the first time since suffering his injury in January.
"He's going to have a full weeks worth of reps, so that's exciting," Macdonald said of Charbonnet. "And there's a possibility that you could see him on Sunday in some capacity."
