Since the Seattle Redhawks season ended two weeks ago at the hands of the Auburn Tigers in the NIT, the program has had three players enter the transfer portal looking for new teams for the 2026-27 season.

Senior guard John Christofilis became the first Redhawk to officially enter the portal Tuesday. Still with one year of eligibility remaining, he appeared in 35 games and averaged 6.5 points on 38% from three-point range in 16 minutes per game.

This season, Christofilis saw a decrease in playing time from the previous two seasons. In both his sophomore and junior seasons, he started 25 games and played averaged over 25 minutes per game. While he served as a spark off the bench, scoring double digits in nine games, the senior lost opportunities to Jojo Murphy, who became the first guard off the bench for coach Chris Victor.

On Sunday, center Austin Maurer joined Christofilis announcing his intent to enter the transfer portal. He spent his sophomore season with Seattle after transferring from Grand Canyon, where he started his collegiate career. He started 25 games and averaged 7.2 points and 4.7 rebounds for the Redhawks. Maurer showed flashes, most notably in an upset win over Washington where he scored 19 points, hauled in five rebounds, and made three blocks.

But Maurer also struggled mightily down the stretch. He often dealt with foul trouble, averaging 3.2 fouls per game in conference play. In the NIT, he saw a combined 28 minutes in both games as he failed to make much of an impact as Seattle U leaned on smaller lineups.

Seldom-used reserve Brock Felder also announced his intent to enter the transfer portal on Sunday. The past season was Felder’s first in Seattle after coming over from Southern Utah. The junior forward appeared in 28 games and averaged 3.1 points and 2.3 rebounds in seven minutes per game. He never really carved out a role, only filling in when Maurer and Houran Dan were in foul trouble and the team needed him to sub in for size.

With the potential to lose all three players, Seattle already locked up its most important piece, Will Heimbrodt, who announced he will return for his redshirt junior season. Seattle will also keep a close eye on Junseok Yeo, its third leading scorer who will have one more season of eligibility and has not declared his intentions for next season yet.
