Gearing up for a new season, the NHL released full 84-game schedules for the Seattle Kraken and the rest of the league on Thursday, including several international contests.

will have two games in Finland, two tough road trips, and a challenging end-of-season schedule in 2026-27.

Seattle’s sixth season as a franchise begins on the road against the Calgary Flames on October 1. After two games in Alberta with back-to-back road contests capped off by a visit to face the Edmonton Oilers, the Kraken host their first home game on October 4 at Climate Pledge Arena, also against the Flames.

Following a two-game homestand, the Kraken start a difficult early road trip. They will travel to square off against the Detroit Red Wings, Washington Capitals, Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Florida Panthers, all teams with legit playoff chances. Mackie Samoskevich’s return to Sunrise, Florida will come on October 17 after being acquired from the Panthers this offseason.

On November 12 and 14, the Kraken will fly overseas to battle the Carolina Hurricanes in a pair of games at Veikauss Arena in Helsinki, Finland. Seattle’s Kaapo Kakko - plus possibly Ville Ottavainen and Jani Nyman - will face fellow Finns Sebastian Aho and Jesperi Kotkaniemi in their home country. Seattle will get four full days of rest before and after those games to compensate for the long trip.

In mid-January, the Kraken have their only six-game road trip on the schedule, facing the Los Angeles Kings, Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils, and Minnesota Wild.

That stretch is followed by Seattle’s only five-game homestand, welcoming the Devils, Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Ottawa Senators to Climate Pledge. The Kraken have only one other four-game homestand, as otherwise their stops in the Emerald City tend to be brief. For comparison, the Anaheim Ducks will have a 10-game homestand next season.

As far as potential revenge matchups go, former defensemen Jamie Oleksiak and the Canucks will come to town for the first time on November 19 and original Kraken winger Jaden Schwartz will return to Seattle with the Colorado Avalanche on March 19.

Six of the Kraken’s last eight games will be on the road, providing a stiff test for what could be a down-to-the-wire finish trying to get back into the postseason. Their season finishes April 10 with a four-game road trip ending against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Kraken have 10 instances of back-to-back games this season, below the league average. As part of the NHL’s newly structured 84 game schedule, Seattle will face each Pacific Division rival four times, every Central Division team three times, and every Eastern Conference opponent twice.
