Report: Josh Jobe Returns to Seahawks on Three-Year Deal

On a day where Seattle Seahawks fans saw Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker head to the Kansas City Chiefs and Coby Bryant sign with the Chicago Bears, morale was getting low for the team retaining most, if not all of their free agents.

Finally, Seahawks fans get some good news, however. Cornerback Josh Jobe has reportedly agreed to return to Seattle on a multi-year contract. Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, it’s a three-year deal worth $24 million.

After going undrafted in 2022 out of Alabama, Jobe first signed with the Eagles. Ahead of the 2024 season, after being released by Philadelphia, the Seahawks signed Jobe to their practice squad. Clearly, he won favor with Mike Macdonald and the Seahawks defensive staff. He worked his way into the starting lineup from there and became a reliable presence opposite Devon Witherspoon and Riq Woolen.

Last season, Jobe faced 96 targets on coverage, which was the sixth-most among all corners in the NFL. Yet he still maintained just a 74.1 passer rating allowed among the high volume of targets. In the regular season, he collected 54 tackles, one interception, and 12 passes defended. In the postseason, he racked up another 11 tackles, including a tackle for loss, and forced a fumble in the Super Bowl.

Only Riq Woolen played more coverage snaps on the team than Jobe for Seattle last season. He also supports in the run game, having the third-best run defense grade among all cornerbacks who played in the postseason and being a consistent tackler throughout his career to this point.

What Jobe brings back to Seattle’s secondary is some of the stability already lost with Bryant going to Chicago along with the potential departure of Woolen, who might get a massive pay raise elsewhere. After John Schneider watched a few key pieces of his Super Bowl team walk out the door, he and Jobe got it done to secure his place in Seattle’s defensive backfield in 2026 and beyond.
