Entering year one of the Jimmy Rogers era, the Washington State Cougars already have signed 19 players as part of the Class of 2026, with 12 of those commitments coming in just the last month.

Quickly acclimating to his new surroundings, Rogers and his coaching staff/recruiting department have been hard at work building his first full recruiting class as the Cougars prepare for life in the rebuilt Pac-12. Here are a few new names Wazzu fans should get familiar with:

Kameron Hurst, Cornerback, Life for Life Academy (St. Louis, MO)
Hurst had an impressive junior season in the Gateway City, recording five interceptions - two of which he returned for touchdowns. His elite speed stands out, clocking in at a reported 4.35 in the 40-yard dash, according to Cougfan.com. His quickness and instincts pop on tape, and he’s projected to contribute at nickel by the time he arrives on campus. Hurst held several FCS offers, including South Dakota State and Sacramento State.

Jacob Lopez-Veasey, EDGE, Cornerstone Christian (San Antonio, TX)
Rated as an 87 overall three-star prospect by 247 Sports, Lopez-Veasey brings size and versatility to the defensive line at 6-4, 240 pounds. He posted 39 tackles and four sacks during his junior season. Depending on how his frame develops, he could play either defensive end or slide inside to defensive tackle. He chose WSU over offers from future Pac-12 rival Texas State and others.

Josh Faraimo, Linebacker, Cathedral Catholic (San Diego, CA)
Faraimo, a three-star linebacker with an 84 overall rating from 247 Sports, stands at 6-1, 205 pounds. He received offers from future Pac-12 opponents Boise State and San Diego State, among others. He brings solid athleticism and awareness to the linebacker room, and while he will need to add mass to handle playing at the FBS level, he should fit well in the Cougars’ defensive scheme.

Matthew McLain, Safety, Prestonwood Christian (Plano, TX)
McLain, a 6-0, 190-pound safety, chose the Cougars over Oklahoma State and Utah State, another program that will soon be joining the Pac-12. He brings positional versatility, having also played wide receiver in high school. McLain can cover receivers in man coverage, line up at boundary corner, and isn’t afraid to get physical in the box. His physical style of play and coverage ability make him a valuable addition to the WSU secondary.
