It felt like a cathartic win for the Seattle Sounders on Saturday afternoon after struggling through the early portion of the season and then finally getting over the hump with a big away win last time out in Dallas. There needed to be another dominating performance to show the rest of the league that this squad is not the bottom barrel Western Conference team that they looked like just two weeks ago.

Three first half goals got the job done in emphatic fashion for the Sounders, and here is how each player fared individually in Saturday’s victory:

### Stefan Frei - 7

One would think in a 3-0 victory that there wouldn’t be much action for the Sounders goalkeeper, but that wasn’t the case on Saturday afternoon. Frei made at least three big saves in the match and it was a much needed “get right” performance for the Sounders legend. Even with the shutout last week at Dallas, he wasn’t asked to do much, so the fact that he was called upon multiple times, and made the necessary saves shows that there’s still some top class soccer left in the tank in his career.

### Yeimar - 7

Mark another in the “get right” match category, but this time for Yeimar. He had to deal with the aerial presence of Sam Surridge throughout the night, and he did well. Other than that, he kept possession when needed, but it was a welcome sight for the entire Sounders defense that they weren’t heavily relied upon to hold a slender lead with the opposition bearing down for that equalizer. Once the Sounders got their goals in the first half, you just knew they would be able to coast to the finish line down the stretch.

### Kim Kee-Hee - 7

Kee-Hee had a precarious task on his hands as the absence of Jackson Ragen for the foreseeable future means someone will have to step in and fill the void. One might say the more obvious choice would have been Jon Bell, who has performed admirably both this season and last when asked to step into the side, but Schmetzer elected to go with the veteran Kim and that decision was rewarded with a professional performance from the Korean.

### Nouhou - 7

Once again, Nouhou looked like a perfect fit for that outside center back on Saturday afternoon against Nashville. It seems like when the game gets simplified for him, and he isn’t asked to do as much going forward, Nouhou seems to thrive in a defensive only role. That was the case in the game on Saturday and he put in about as mistake-free of a match that he has had this season, and he may have just found a home on the left side of that back three.

### Kalani Kossa-Rienzi - 6

Even in a 3-0 win, when it can seem like every player is getting involved, there will be areas and players that find it difficult for the game to come to them. By no means did Rienzi do anything wrong, although he was yellow-carded early in the second half, but not every single player is going to stand out. It just happens to be the case that in this game, Rienzi was the one to experience that. He did his job, no more, no less.

### Cristian Roldan - 7

Roldan needed to get going if Seattle was going to get the win on Saturday and he did just that. While he didn’t have a direct assist or goal, he was heavily involved in the buildup for Seattle’s second score, and he was a big part in the absolute domination in the midfield, which is a bigger accomplishment in itself than a goal or assist. He did his job well defensively and even was able to press the build out from Nashville and produce a few turnovers in their own third, including on the second goal.

### Obed Vargas - 9

Once again, Seattle’s best player on Saturday was undoubtedly Vargas. He keeps getting better and better each week, and this time he actually got some results for his great play with an assist. The goal scorer Pedro de la Vega even knew who to point to in celebration as Vargas had about a 40 second passage of play that would be on the highlight reel for any professional footballer. It seems like it comes up every week, but the Sounders will be very lucky if he is on their team at the end of the year, as many European sides will by vying for his signature over the summer.

### Paul Rothrock - 8

After a string of performances where Rothrock failed to get as involved as we have been used to him being, he finally was able to deliver against Nashville. It’s also not a coincidence that the two times he has scored are the two games in which Seattle has looked at it’s best this season. He unlocks another dimension to the offense when he is going, and the Sounders will just have to find a way to get that on a consistent basis moving forward.

### Pedro de la Vega - 8

There is also a big reason why the game that Pedro de la Vega returned, Seattle looked like a completely different team, and that was last week against Dallas. He is the Sounders most important player, when he is involved, getting shots off, taking on defenders, and creating chances, the Rave Green look nothing like the team that struggled to score as much as they did when he was out with injury. Hopefully he is finally healthy and can string together some matches like this one. Oh, and he took his goal extremely well, excellent finish.

### Jesus Ferreira - 8

He looks much more comfortable in the false 9 rather than the striker position. The emergence of Danny Musovski and the return of Jordan Morris will do wonders for the confidence of Jesus Ferreira mainly because he will play a position much more comfortable to him. Getting 2 assists in the match, albeit one of them rather luckily, proves that he is getting in the right positions when he doesn’t have to be the hold up player and he can freely roam and create.

### Danny Musovski - 8

Saturday was a massive match for Danny Musovski. Yes, he got his game winner last week against Dallas, but this one against Nashville was huge for him to prove it wasn’t just a one-off performance. His improvement in other aspects like hold up play, and aerial presence should not go unnoticed either. Not that he would be starting over Jordan Morris upon his return to the starting lineup, but having options that head coach Brian Schmetzer trusts will be key coming down the stretch as fixtures get congested. The finish was improvisational and very instinctual, one that exemplifies a player playing with confidence.
