RENTON, Wash. - Losing consecutive games for the first time since 2024, the sky seems to be falling for the Seattle Seahawks, who dropped to 3-3 on the season with a disappointing 17-14 overtime defeat to the Denver Broncos.

Not playing anywhere close to the same level of complementary football they did winning the Super Bowl last year, the Seahawks continue to be dogged by the same offensive issues week after week. They have not been able to consistently run the football effectively, quarterback Sam Darnold and a bevy of ball carriers out of the backfield have not been able to stop turning the ball over in bunches, and an experienced offensive line has been self-destructing allowing 10 sacks in the past two games alone.

In the aftermath of Thursday's loss, after throwing two more back-breaking interceptions that pushed his season total to seven, Darnold found himself under fire with many national and local analysts calling for a quarterback change to Drew Lock. Macdonald had to face that music on Friday during an interview with Seattle Sports 710 as well as from local media.

But rather than dance around the subject or give the possibility of a switch under center legs, Macdonald immediately shot down any ideas of a quarterback controversy brewing in Seattle, vouching for the Lombardi Trophy winner.

“We won a world championship with him," Macdonald said of Darnold. "We believe in the guy. We see him every day, we see what he does. We see the plays that he’s been able to make. We see the talent. All those things. That’s where my mind is.”
